Element® ThermaFLEX® Cold Weather Hose

Available in 5/8 x 50 and 100ft lengths. If the length is not available in the drop down menu, then it is out of stock at this time.

Here at Swan, we know that a garden hose left outside in winter weather is susceptible to damage such as cracking. Further, water left inside the hose can freeze and cause the water hose to expand and burst. Our ThermaFLEX® hose solves both problems by maintaining its shape, strength and flexibility even at the coldest temperatures.

Swan’s ThermaFLEX® garden hose for low temperatures is made of an exclusive compound that makes the hose resistant to freeze damage when filled with water. It also features a thermal-conducting jacket that maintains its flexibility down to -30 degrees Fahrenheit compared with traditional PVC hoses that harden and crack at 50 degrees Fahrenheit. (Please note, however, that the ThermaFLEX® cold-weather hose does not prevent water from freezing within the hose.)

This weatherproof garden hose is also heavy-duty: It’s a 5/8-inch cold-climate garden hose with a 400 PSI burst strength. Plus, it has extra-large aluminum couplings that are crush-proof up to 4,000 pounds. And since the end of the hose that connects to the water source is especially prone to tugging and kinking, we’ve added our patented Hose Armour® for kink-resistance.

With Swan’s ThermaFLEX® low-temperature garden hose, you also don’t have to worry about the toxic effects of lead or phthalates. As part of our Element brand, it meets the lead-free standards under the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act and is compliant with California’s strict phthalate-content standards.

A limited lifetime warranty guarantees this garden hose for cold climates will serve you well through several wintry seasons.

5 of 5 Thermal flex Hose January 29, 2022
Reviewer: Tim from New Hampshire
The hose does exactly what the specs say! The hose does stay flexible below -30 degrees, does not kink at all. The specs say it maintains flexibility at sub zero temps with water in hose, this would be while the water is flowing! Not sitting over night or prolonged periods of time! A typical garden hose does not stay flexible and kinks, cracks and is just not for winter use. As a farmer with many beef cows to water on a daily basis I would recommend this hose, I would also recommend draining the hose every time after use. The hose can be left outside if drained properly. A little common sense goes a long ways!!

1 of 5 DO NOT BUY THERMA FLEX HOSE FOR EXTREME COLD!!!!!! January 18, 2022
Reviewer: Derek Koziol from New Hampshire
These hoses are TERRIBLE. I bought two 100 foot hoses to run a hot water zamboni on my backyard hockey rink. First time out of the box the hoses froze overnight and couldn't use it. Had to defrost it in my basement for a few hours. I then bought an adaptor to blow out the hose with an air compressor to make sure the water is out of the hose. FROZE AGAIN!!!!! Bottom line, I cannot store in my pool house outside and/or even close to the outdoor temp below or at 25 degrees. WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!!!!

1 of 5 Not worth it February 18, 2021
Reviewer: Judythe from Magnolia, DE
Bought this based on the review from Alaska. The water froze in this hose as soon as it went in. It is 31 degrees in Delaware. The hose was completely unusable and it is barely below freezing. It stayed flexible and I could feel exactly where the water was frozen which was basically all 50 feet. No amount of bending would loosen the ice. I poured water in and watched it freeze immediately at the coupling. My cheap Lowes hose gave me less problems. Do not recommend.

5 of 5 Tested in Alaska at Neg 30 F January 17, 2020

I just bought 300 ft of Swan's ThermaFlex, made in USA hose.   Living in a cold spot of Alaska with a kennel full of dogs and a herd of horses, water delivery has always been a nightmare.     Until now!!  My new ThermaFlex hose, straight out of the shipping box, unrolled and laid FLAT, no kinks at negative 30 degrees.   My water fill time was cut in half due to low friction inside the hose.  I had no leaks, no coils, no kinks.   The couplings were easy to attach and take apart, they did not freeze!!    The hose was easily rolled up and stowed.    This is an unbelievable high quality, low priced product.   I'll never buy hose that is not from SWAN.   I'm quite sure I could run water even at 40 below.   FANTASTIC, wouldn't believe it had I not experienced it.
